Teen Parcel Review

When I was first approached to review a Teen Parcel, I almost replied 'thanks but no thanks'. Then I caught myself and realised that our eldest will be 10 before too long, and that's not far away at all from being a Teen, is it?!

That thought nearly had me running for the hills, then I figured it possibly won't be a massive jump from the attitude we get some days now.... only kidding T, if you're reading this!

So what is a Teen Parcel anyway, I can hear you asking?

Well, the idea is that you can order these boxes as a monthly subscription, timed to roughly arrive for that 'bad' time of the month, filled with goodies to help your girl take her mind off things along with the necessary sanitary protection. They are designed predominantly for girls between the ages of 11 and 17, and contain products from great brands, along the beauty and pamper themes.

The box we received contained some great skincare products, which I think all young girls would be happy to try, a lovely sparkly nail varnish and discount card from Binky London, a pretty bracelet in its own bag, a chocolate flake teabag (T has not acquired the taste for tea yet, so lucky mummy with that one), a small pack of sweets, and enough tampons to last for that month's cycle. There's also a small bag especially made for a handful of tampons, so they can be kept discreetly in a main bag without spilling everywhere.

It's very easy to set this up online at their website www.pinkparcel.co.uk , and you do get a choice between towels or tampons. You can choose your favourite brand, and you input dates to suit you - so you can set it to arrive just before your periods start or on the actual day if you know it!

Obviously T is not old enough to need most of this just yet (although you're never too young or old for sweets, eh?!) but I liked the fact that it sparked some good discussion between us, and it was a good way to take any embarrassment away. T concluded that it would be a nice idea for when the relevant time came.

The subscription service is £9.95 monthly including delivery, and you can try your first parcel at the reduced rate of £5.95. You can cancel at any time.

Disclosure: we went sent this product free of charge for the purpose of review, but all views and opinions are our own.
