52 Week Photography Challenge Week 1: Beginnings

Anyone who knows me well, will know that I am a huge lover of photos.

I have stacks of albums in a cupboard upstairs, and until a year or so ago, I was religiously good about printing all my photos off and getting them into albums.

Then I discovered photo books. I liked the idea that they were more compact, and wouldn't take up as much space, so I resolved to just make photo books instead of having prints.

Except I haven't, sadly. Time just disappears like sand slipping through fingers. All I've managed to stay on top of (and always will), is Holiday Albums. So at least I have those.

Before Christmas I reviewed a great photo sharing site - it's worth reading my post: Have you heard of SmugMug?

Ignoring the fact that it is yet another tool to take up my time, I absolutely love this site as it is a way of both storing and backing up my photos, and enables me to share easily with family and friends. You can also be very creative with how you display them - not that I've had time for that yet! You can see my page here: www.stephstwogirls.smugmug.com

For Christmas, Santa was very kind and delivered to me the main thing on my wishlist (he was under very strict instructions mind you). It's a super fabby swishy new Nikon D3200 DSLR camera which I absolutely love. Now I just need to learn how to use it properly!

One thing I hear everybody who is into photography say, is that you should go out and keep using the camera in order to learn more. So I've decided that I'm going to need a bit of help and motivation to do that, and that is where the lovely Mummy B's 52 Week Photography Challenge comes in (I bet you were wondering that)!

It involves a prompt every week, and her first one is very aptly named 'Beginnings'.

So I'll admit now that I'm cheating slightly already, because I didn't go out and take these this week - these are baby pictures which I've recently uploaded to SmugMum! I couldn't not use them though, as a kickstarter for this project. Hopefully as the weeks progress you'll see sharper snaps from my new baby (camera), and just one a week!

The question is, can you guess which girl is which though?!
